Tatu and Patu is a comedy based on Finland’s best selling children’s book series. Tatu and Patu are clever brothers form Oddsville, where things are usually done a bit differently. Tatu and Patu are invited to the big city to experience Christmas time with their best friend, 9-year old Veera. Things get complicated when Veera is late at the railway station and the boys enter the city on their own. What follows is an adventure full of nutty incidents as the friends try to find each other. Tatu and Patu is a warm and funny film about friendship and how it’s okay to be weird or different. The film has had a record-breaking opening in the theatres and has become a true phenomenon in Finland with over 300.000 admissions.
Rike Jokela is an award winning director, writer, and cinematographer with over 20 years of experience in TV and cinema. He has directed more than 15 TV series and 5 TV films, along with numerous TV-shows, pilots, format, and specials. He has won several Venlas (the Finnish equivalent of the Emmys) and has once been nominated for Prix Europa, twice for Rose d’Or and won Gran Prix at Eurobest in 2014.
