19-year-old Mikko finds a summer job as guard in a remote Finnish prison. Working with convicts within the prison hierarchy challenges his views on human dignity. Will he be able to maintain his innocence and moral integrity under the social pressure of the prison? This is a coming of age story, illustrated by the tragic yet comical encounters between the summer guards and inmates.
Panu Suuronen (born 1979) initially studied Communication and Media Arts in Turku before graduating in 2008 with a MA in Visual Communication at the Edinburgh University. For the past few years he has been well established in directing and writing for primetime television in Finland.
